Boot Heel Drag - Non Pedal Stuff

Post by Jody Cameron »

I had no idea I was being filmed, but this is pretty cool. It's a 1953 or '54 Fender Dual Professional that I did some fixin' up on. It was made for Parker Music in Houston. Still has the "Parker" metal emblem between the necks. Needed two tuning key pans and some minor electronic clean-up.

The great Kevin Carter on fiddle and Harlan Kubos on bass, along with Jimmy Calhoun on drums and bandleader Country Jim Sloan on guitar. Kevin plays some serious swing!

Playing straight to a PV Vegas 400 through a Hilton pedal. E13th tuning. I'm diggin' that Fender tone!

Very nice, Jody! Classic steel tune, classic Fender tone, nice picking. The fiddle player sounds good too. Great stuff.

Really enjoyed that too. Great dynamics in the band. The fiddle player plays double stops like Johnny Gimble!

Mr Cameron, you're one of my favourite steel players. Everything seem so easy. Thanks for posting.
Check this one also http://youtu.be/LZBDHFHoMhY
I know my playing is a bit pitchy, but at least my tone sucks

Jody: Great job on that classic "Boot Heel Drag"...
Can you please explain the E13 tuning? Just how is it tuned from high to low? Thanks, Tommy.......
