Good Night!

I've never seen anything like it in my life time.

Never seen anyone pull so hard with the right hand as E does.

Makes you wonder why the strings don't fly off the guitar.

And one of the people posting comments says he has four hours of video from that show. I'd love to see it!

There just is no better. My same thoughts first time I heard it on the black album.

I was there to witness this performance in the flesh, incredible playing at Gerry Hogans Steel Guitar Festival, Newbury, England.

I got to see alot of that footage a long time ago at a dear friend's house in England. It was pretty much kept under wraps out of respect for Mr. Emmons. I remember his version of the Elton John ballad, "Blue Eyes" as one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard!

Simply amazing! His single note phrases are just rippin'... so crisp. Yeah Rick... I heard "Blue Eyes" several years ago and thought the same thing. Mr. Emmons... always inspiring!

It is great to see great players like Tommy White, Sid Hudson and Buck Reid honor Buddy Emmons the way they have. I have always said Buddy Emmons is what I call the "Total Package" on steel guitar. Great playing, qualified on both necks, plays slow and fast and never forget that Emmons tone.

Just a bump cause I like it. And to keep us humble. I'll bet it really got scary after he warmed up and got loose. :whoa:

I want to add another thing about Buddy Emmons that is hard to do when playing. Buddy Emmons smiles most of the time as if he were just having a great time playing. I would bet he is.

Having had the good fortune to watch Buddy close several jams-shows during the mid 70's early 80's.
I'm betting the ending went a lot like this.
