Wow, such a good friend of mine left us yesterday.
Tony was an amazing fiddler with chops out the wazoo and a musical sense of humor to match. Nobody loved to laugh more than Tony P. He and I were in the Bandoleros together for years with Johnny Bush, Pickens sitting immediately to my left, and also in the excellent River City Ramblers, which morphed into the Tom Teboe Band. Again, my "left hand man."
RIP old friend, your burdens are over.

Tony is on the far right in this photo of the River City Ramblers.

Tony knew for quite a while his end was near. He planned his service down to singers and songs. He had Bobby Flores, John Schattenburg, RJ Smith and Bubba Cox on fiddle and Justin Trevino on Guitar and singing. Billy Mata, Ken Ryan and several audio taped songs by John Conlee. The service was really heart warming. The steel guitar world was well represented, Jim Loessburg, Denny Mathis, Kenny Groman, Bobby Dardeman, Tommy Detamore and me. There was a jam and celebration of life afterwards. Frenchie Burke, Johnny Bush, Ray Spespanik, Bobby Baker, JimmieCribb and many others were in attendance. You can see Tony was well respected in the music business.
