My mom died

Post by Andy Volk »

My mom died on April 8th. She sang and played piano all her life and served as Director of the Philadelphia Art Commission in the 70s & early 80s. Been cleaning out 86 years of accumulated memories and hoarded junk for a week. Time now to reflect.

Andy, my condolences. It is a funny feeling. Even though I was in my mid 50's when my mother died, I still felt like an orphan. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you, everyone. What a week. Pretty wild here in Boston. I had four friends and colleagues who were working the TV coverage of yesterday's marathon. Two were 40 feet away from blast number one but all are okay, though shaken.
