How can I Record youtubes to a stand alone DVD recorder ?
This isnt computer related, but I didnt know where to post it. I have a stand alone dvd recorder, and it seems to me anything that is on my TV screen I should be able to record. There are a couple of outs on the back of my Samsung HD tv that require a special cable I guess. I have a blueray that puts my youtubes on the tv screen. This doesnt sound like a very intelligent post, I realize, but I am not sure how to go about getting that on my dvd recorder...i dont want to put it on my computer. Thanks in advance for any help.

This all depends how you currently view the YouTube videos. If you have the internet going direct into Tivo, or something like that, it should be no problem, but I don't so I can't answer that part.
I'm assuming that you're watching YouTube over the internet on your computer. If that is so, you need to output your computer to your DVD recorder, and that depends on what outputs your computer has. If your computer has S-video and hi-fi audio outputs it's just a matter of connecting them to your DVD recorder. If it doesn't you're going to have to treat your DVD recorder as a computer monitor and get an adapter to take your monitor output into a television. Hopefully, with your television turned on and your DVD recorder/player set to record, what you see on your television will be your computer output.
By far the easiest solution is to download ZiggyTV, which is free software to copy YouTube onto your computer, and then cut DVDs on your computer's DVD drive, but you don't want to use your computer.
By the way, I use ZiggyTV and store YouTube videos on my computer in MP4 format. It takes up a lot less space than an uncompressed DVD.
