Win 7 Font Issues

Post by J W Alexander »

Not sure how or what exactly is happening with my much hated Win 7 program but here's what.........

When renaming existing documents or other files there appears a colored background centered around the "i" or 'l' characters. This doesn't happen in the LibreOffice 3.4 suite though.

Any ideas what I've done to create this mess? I can't do a screen shot since that computer sits unused most of the time.....I HATE that Win 7 mess! :D

Thanks in advance!

Windows 7 is considered one of the best Microsoft OS systems, since XP. Many are not moving from Win 7 to Win 8 because of the stability of Win 7.

I tried recreating your problem but can't duplicate it. Exactly how are you doing it and with what program?

I was afraid someone would ask this sort of question! :D

That's where I'm stumped as I've not used that computer too often so how this has occurred escapes me. To my knowledge I've done nothing to create it however it did show up suddenly when I shortened the name of a video file (kept the file type though, changed only the name.)

Now ever file I save, display or change has this same anomaly and there's seemingly no way to reverse it.

If this is something recent, or you haven't added/changed anything else since this you can use the System Restore and restore the PC back to an available restore date prior to this happening. If that does not fix it, System Restore has an option to undo the restore and put the PC back to how it was before the restore.

System Restore does not touch user data.

System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools.

That might be an easier fix----I believe my file folder will have a "last modified" heading which would allow me to set the restore point before the observed change took place.

Great advice Jack!
