Lars Egil Vågseter: Farewell Party

Post by Bent Romnes »

Although this song has been played by literally every steel player at one time or another, I feel it is worth your time to give Lars Egil's version a listen.
Keeping in mind that this is a live recording, I do believe this is a top quality recording nonetheless.
I also believe that the church it was recorded in, contributes greatly to making it a quality recording.
Lars Egil played on his SD10 ZumSteel.

Ray,
Lars Egil has been playing since the early 80's I believe. He played for many years with one of Norway's foremost dance bands. His main strength, I believe, has been that of a back-up player. Now that he is retiring from the band, it is refreshing to see how he is gradually increasing his solo portfolio. This, and other songs was recorded live in a church during one of Norway's Country Music Festivals. Songs from his CD "Sweet Steel" is also being posted on youtube. I will post my personal favorite in a separate thread..."For reasons I've forgotten"

Thanks all, for your sincere comments!
