Chicken pickin' good - IT'S TOMMY WHITE!!

Post by Ken Byng »

Someone has put a couple of clips of Tommy on YouTube from his 'Aged 15' album. I'd forgotten just how great a player he was on that album. I remember just being blown away by his playing when I first bought the album in the mid '70's.

I can hear influences of Jimmy Crawford, Weldon Myrick and Lloyd in his playing, but there is a lot of original stuff in there too. Wonderful picking, and interesting how his technique, tone and style has evolved over the years.

Tommy is priceless as a player and a person.

Good Lord. Clint's 2nd solo on Honky Tonk Night Time Man is silly. One of my all time favorite guitar players.
