I thought it would be a great idea to let the SGF members know about this and especially the guys in NC, SC, and VA that knew Ray. I think it would be great if a good number of us went on this site to give our vote in the comments section for the Eric Strickland album in honor of our late steel friend, Ray Walker, and all that he brought and gave to the steel guitar community. Let's not forget his contribution to "Saving Country Music"!
Just check the links and listen to the album. It's great! And Ray's beautiful playing is all over it! I never met Ray, but I feel like I did. We developed a friendship over numerous emails over a period of several months a while back. Ray was a great guy. Was always inviting me to come up and visit him at his home and jam. Sorry to say, I never made it up there...
Let's see if we can get him to name this one his "Album of the Year" for Ray!!
