I've been wanting to post something about Charlie for some time but due to other issues I was unable to do so. He has been gone 4 years this month, I really do miss his friendship and visits with him. I was fortunate to know him for approx. 8 1/2 years. We became like brothers. He was a wonderful man, he left behind a wonderful family. He was a giver in his life -not a taker. And for those who knew him I'm sure you would all agree. I purchased the last d-10 CLR that he built. He was also the co-founder of the Southern Steel Guitar Conv. and a top-notch player and builder. He is gone but not forgotten, I will always miss him.

Hi David,
You're right. Charlie was one of a kind. I always enjoyed the time I spent at the Saluda Show and getting a chance to pick with Charlie and Buddy Walker. I have fond memories of both of these gentlemen.
