Videos of the flat-pickin' Swede in the 2011 Jazz Room

Post by Jan Jonsson »

Hi,

A little late, obviously, but I felt like publishing the video recordings from my performance in the Jazz Room at ISGC last year. The recording and subsequent editing were done by Colm Chomicky.

I played with some particularly fine equipment (Brad Sarno's SMS Classic tube preamp and TC Furlong's active speaker cabinet) and musicians (Jim Stahlhut, Bob DeBoo and Kyle Honeycutt) that made me feel very comfortable on stage. Extra kudos to Jim, Bob and Kyle for their fabulous job with the compositions I asked them to play (and that they had never played before.)

Beijing Bebop (my own composition)

When Eyes Speak (Swedish bass player Christian Spering's jazz ballad, delicately handled by Bob DeBoo)

Waltz for Elma (my own composition where I'm fooling around with my just-purchased Sarno Earth Drive)

Hope you like it.
