RIP Oscar. I have many treasured memories of the Opry at the Ryman, the old "Opry" tv show, and many "package" shows in the 60s featuring Lonzo and Oscar. In fact I have "I'm My Own Grandpa" on my Ipod. He will be missed.

May Oscar Rest In Peace

Yes, I am so pleased, that Larry Black made it possible for " Oscar " to be a quest on his Re-union Show recently. He told every one that he was 93 years old and was so proud to have the opportunity to be there on Larry's show. Was great hearing him sing the great number " I'm My Own Grandpa " once again. May Oscar Rest In Peace. God be with his family..Bernie

I had the opportunity to visit Oscar at his home about a year ago. He treated me as though we were old friends. He showed me his country music history wall and talked about his time in Nashville and opening for Eddy Arnold. What a great experience it was to meet him and hear so many great stories from a man who lived the dream. He was a gracious, humble and kind man. I am glad I got the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with such a legend.

I was just listening to Lonzo and Oscar on the opry reruns on WSM and what a great group they were.
