Icons

I have two dozen or so Icons on my PC, some on the right some on the left and the last three time I have turned it off all of them jump to the left side of my screen. What gives? I have never experienced this in the ten or so years I have had a PC. Any help please.

Billy, try right-clicking on an open area of your desktop. You should get a menu that starts with "Arrange Icons By". Choose that menu and you'll get another which has an option of "Auto Arrange" or "Align to Grid". I'm guessing you may have "Auto Arrange" checked (and so your system auto-arranges them to the left). If so, try checking "Align to Grid" instead and see if that solves your problem.

If you arrange your icons manually, just right click the desktop and then click refresh to force windoze to remember the positions.

Jim and Pete I tried both of your recommendations with no success . After moving the Icons and clicking the refresh they jump back that instant.Anymore ideas? Did a system restore back to last week and it took care of the problem.End of problem.
