Sheck it out! Lynn's 3rd vid, Healing Hands of Time

Post by Lynn Fargo »

Hi guys and gals,

I'm pretty excited about my new Live Steel strings and my new Fender Mustang II, so I had to upload a vid of a Billy Cooper song I've been working on. Yeah, it's so much easier to play when you're not being videoed, but I hope you'll share some comments with me. I had to give up steel for 25 years and am back at it whenever I can, which isn't nearly often enough, but I do try.

Special thanks to all of you who helped steer me to the strings and amp.

Lynn

Hi Lynn, your doing great for sure, and that's a good tune.
I really enjoyed it, and would like to hear more from you.

Thanks guys,
I'm finally getting the tone I like out of this ol' 'Bud.
Michael, the chimes are straight from the arrangement by Billy. Interesting, though, I found I had to back off on my bar so I wouldn't get overtones. Some of the notes in the song I had to change because I'm minus the 4th knee lever. It's hooked up to my 6th but not my E9th. Had to improvise a little.

Carl, I heard this tune on Billy's website. His wife said she put it up without him knowing. I'm so glad she did, because I fell in love with it the first time I heard it.

:) That is my favorite arrangement of that song and you only need to smooth it out in places. You're doing great.

Thanks Barry and Joe. I know I need to put a lot more mileage on this machine, but don't have the time just yet. I'm so thrilled when I get a few hours a week on her. I'm gonna keep on tryin'. :)

Really enjoyed it! Particularly like the tone from the Mustang. Am thinking about a new amp also and have narrowed it down to the Mustang or the Roland XL which is getting a lot of good 'press' on these pages. Will definitely give the Mustang serious consideration nafter hearing this.
Keep it up!

Thanks Alan. That Mustang will do a lot more than I need it to. I set it to Twin, turned up the low and the 'verb, and that's what I got. The volume was only on about 3-4. It's the perfect amp for me for now. On a good day, I could even carry it myself if needed. Maybe someday I'll read the owner's manual, but then again, I just might superglue the knobs where they are. :)
