What an honor for Tommy White to play on this song. Ricky Skaggs is mainly bluegrass these days and usually does not use steel or drums.

I also think Ricky would be honored to have Tommy White playing steel for him. :)

Fabulous! All one needs now for the icing is Ray Flack (Flacky) on guitar, to
round this off nicely and to turn the clock back to the 'good ol' days!
Nice ZUM 12 D9 2 Roland Cubes,+ various effects and bits.

I had the pleasure of talking with Ray Flack years ago and he had some interesting stories about those “good old days

Michael....I had the pleasure of having Ray Flack in my band in the mid 70's, be it only for about 6 months, before he broke up with his Gal "Sonia" and headed off to the States. He's a great Spagehetti cook :)

Anaheim

Post by Michael Robertson »

Micky….I never had the opportunity to play with Ray. I met him at a NAMM show in Anaheim CA. sometime around 1999 or 2000.
We talked for quite awhile as he was demonstrating “B” Benders for Telecasters.
I sat there and played another Tele (Just as a casual walker by) and between the two of us had a pretty good time.
He had some great stories.

Michael ... The first time I saw Ray again after his departure to the States was at the Wembley Country festival over here in U.K. I had really good seats (Actually on the stage)..a doorman friend got them for me. Ray came on with Joe Sun and "Shotgun" Ray was so suprised to see us. He had a usual Telecaster, and a Lab series amp...remember them? good gear. After that he was with Ricky Scaggs with Bruce Bouton on steel. I met Bruce at a BBQ over here, and we chatted alot about Ray. When he worked with us, there was always an abundance of guitar players creep in to see him. Have you ever noticed that if you have a great player like him in a band, it improves "your" playing ability. Same goes if you work with some...shall I say not up to Par...it drags your playing down. Guess that's another
thread ;-)
Here's a clip of Ray with Joe Sun...Neil Flanz on steel.

Take care.
