Takashi Ozaki is a great and well known steeler in Japan.
His son Hiroshi (aka Ryundi)is also a monster player! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qte_GmUXO1Q
I played bass with Heather Myles at Charlie Nagatani's "Country Gold Festival" a few years back.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qte_GmUXO1Q
We didn't bring a steel player with us, so we hired Hiroshi on the day of the concert. We had a big language barrier with Hiroshi, so we just gave him a couple of Heather's CDs to somewhat familiarize himself with her material a couple hours before our set. He went to his dressing room to listen...and when he came back an hour later, he had charted every song on both CD's, and NOTATED (not tabbed) every steel part! He played the show absolutely flawlessly...and with fire!
I've never seen anything like it!!!!

Music is the universal language. Hiroshi sounds great in your links, but Heather is not there. Both links are Lute 66.Rick Schmidt wrote: Hiroshi (aka Ryundi)is also a monster player! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qte_GmUXO1Q

Oopes...didn't mean to cause a topic drift. I just meant to show a clip about the Country Gold Festival in Kumamoto Japan the year I was there.

Maybe it's Hiroshi too on the Sierra guitar?
Nice cover of "Angel" by the Fifth Avenue Band fom the late sixties. I think the Japanese have a very good taste in music.
