Singer/songwriter Del Barber from Winnipeg has a new video out. Bill Western does a lot of pedal steel with local folk, r&r, and alt country acts and has recorded with Del and plays locally with him on his occasional Winnipeg dates. Bill is a product of the Wayne Link sponsored Steel Parties held here in Winnipeg annually some years back. Sadly, they are no longer happening. Randle Currie was another youngster who attended those. Anyway, some nice shots of the MSA Supersustain II also.

Really nice! And in my opinion, the steel really carries the song instrumentally. Nice cinematography as well (although perhaps a bit overboard on the extreme close ups...). Any song that I hit the replay immediately after the first listen is a good'un in my book!

I recently had a nice visit with Wayne Link. He wants to organize an informal steel guitar event in Winnipeg this summer. Hopefully that will happen and a little positive feedback to Wayne wouldn't hurt. He has a couple of new CDs available as well, featuring himself along with some other well known local musicians.
