Question For Wiz
Is it safe to delete the files in the sub folders under "Searches"? I've noticed that they're really adding up and I'm tryng to clean up my system for better performance. (Windows Vista Home Basic) Thanks in advance!

Yes, delete them at will. CCleaner will delete them and many other temporary files for you. I run it every night, before shutting down the PC.

I use simple, classic Explorer views, without the left tree section. The new style occupies too much space on my monitor, especially if I open two or three Explorer windows at a time.Buck Reid wrote:Thanks Wiz... that helped quite a bit. I was referring to the "searches" folder and sub folders to the far left in Windows Explorer folder tree. Thanks again in advance.

If you are running low on hard disk space, delete all temporary files. They aren't necessary.Buck Reid wrote:Yes but are the files in those folders taking up unnecessary space? Is it safe to delete them and clean them out? Thanks Wiz... don't mean to be a bother.
You can download CCleaner from here. It is freeware, with donations accepted.

Buck;
Yes, it is safe to delete the contents of your searches folder and sub-directories. They are only stored there in case you search for the same words again. It is a cache that speeds up the display of hits to your search terms.
