Who's the steel player on this Phil Ochs recording?

No credits on the record cover, that's the reason why I'm asking.

Don't know who's playing but it sounds like a Nashville production. Never knew he did any straight up country. Kind of a corny song, but I still liked it.

I wasn't correct with the "no credits". There is no name given of a musician that I am familiar with, being a steel player. Others were Chris Ethridge, Clarence White, James Burton and Don Rich (!). It was recorded on the west coast.
The last studio album of his, (ironically) titled "Phil Och's Greatest Hits".

I would guess Red Rhodes in that case. Thought it had his kind of sound. Nice line up to say the least.

Phil Ochs, there's a name I haven' heard in many years.

I like the line "I'll have a dollar worth of regular today" At the time this was recorded, you could probably get 2 or 3 gallons. Of course, he is talking about filling up his "tank" with love. And believe me, love is way more expensive than gas.

Don't know about it being Red. Could be, but it sounds more like a real E9th tuning to me. Of course, Red's tuning and technique for E9th sounds is better than any other 6th based tuning I have ever heard.
Carter D10 8p/7k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup, Regal RD40 Dobro (D tuning), Recording King Professional Dobro (G tuning), NV400, NV112, Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open G slide and regular G tuning guitar) .

Playing for 55 years and still counting.
