Wichita Falls, Tx area musician Danny Bohannon has passed on after a massive heart attack a short time ago. Danny was a member of the West Texas Steel Guitar Association whom we got to know back when Bobby Rains was introducing his guitars in Abilene. Danny came to the intro demonstrations and bought one of the early Rains guitars He had been an active member of the WTSGA ever since we formed it. He never did play at one of the meetings, but was at most all of them lending his support even though it was a pretty long drive from his home. He will be missed. He was much to young and it was a shock to us all.

Danny, SHOCK?? Understatement for sure. Danny has been a friend for a long time and I got to spend a lot of time with him at the last WTSGA meeting. Danny was not only a super steeler but he was one of Texas' outstanding lead players. He was a true supporter of steel guitars though. Way too young to pass on. I'll miss his friendship immensely and pray for his family to be able to overcome this hardship.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Danny's family at this difficult time. I always enjoyed visiting with him at the WTSGA meetings. He was a faithful member and loved the steel guitar. He will be missed. Rest in peace.
