Ahhh this takes me back years when I'd buy the LP of this super band ..... players....including Charlie McCoy on harp and the superb picking of a young Weldon Myrick here. Enjoy
Pity they were miming - but good to see them all in action. Norbert Putnam was incredible, as were they all. Weldon and Buddy Spicher had twin tracked their instruments on the recording (Katy Hill).
Micky - we were all young in those days, not just Weldon.

Mickey wow! that sure brings back the memories! I remember buying this album as a result of reading a book "Country Music, white Man's Blues", where Area code 615 was mentioned. This was my first introduction to Weldon Myrick.
I also remember the song Just like a Woman ..Weldon's steel part just tore me apart. What a world class picker already then. Imagine what he's like now. Blows your mind doesn't it?
Hey Bent...guess we were in the same era appreciating the same bands and songs of the day .... Regarding Weldon Myrick, here's a fairly recent one by the looks of things, guesting with the Marty Stewart band backing Connie Smith. Tastefull playing as expected and playing just what's needed
Great group! Since I spent so much time looking what became of the members, I want to post that link. It features Mac Gayden, who I will always recognise for his slide sound, wherever he played on.
For sheer emotion, their cut of Why Ask Why is a beautiful piece of music. Weldon plays with so much soul it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up even today.
