Apple IMac How show http//: address & search boxes

Post by steve takacs »

I feel like a real dumbo with my new iMac. I have somehow managed to make the search box and the address box at the top of the page disappear so that I can not write in any other http addresses. It only default to The Steel Guitar Forum (which is a pretty good place to go BUT at times I wish to go elsewhere.
I've gone into Preferences, and View ( I use a Safari browser). This did happen once before and I managed to make the boxes resurface but I'm coming up empty now. Help is welcome! steve t

Under the "View" menu, you'll find everything you need (show...)

You can also press Command L and your address bar will magically appear, with the cursor in it, ready to type a URL.

Great tip Cal - I hate having to use the mouse to highlight the URL. This is very helpful - thanks!

Command Option F is another handy shortcut that places the cursor in the search bar.
