This has been up before but I recently saw new questions about thomas' guitar history.

Very nice! I dig that tone he's getting. Kinda jarring how puny those teles sound after Jeff's solo.

That Thomas is owned by a local Steel Guitar Player in Spring Hill, Fl. It's been converted to an extended E9th.

Another Steeler friend in West Plains, Mo has a Thomas S-10.

No big deal on the "conversion". Just changed from a U12 tuning/setup to an extended E9th tuning/setup. But it did take some work as Jeff Newman used the Day setup for E9th and it now has an Emmons setup.

That's Boomer "palm pedal" Castleman with the butterscotch or blonde Tele® there. Anybody know what he's doing these days? He used to post here from time to time.

I was there for that show. I always admired Jeff's playing and nice fat tone.

:) Thanks David.

Sorry Jeff, didn't mean to sidetrack the topic.

Back to Jeff's playing there. Nice. Choo Choo Cha Boogie with a little Dick Clark's Bandstand theme thrown in there.

He had some nice things to say about Barry Thomas and his steel building in one of the old Pedal Rod publications.
