New Guy To BIAB.. Question...Can I pull the steel out of the mix in a song,,play several bars and put it back in. I know that it could be done in a recording studio many years ago when everything was on tape. Perhaps that real tracks does not let you do that.

Thanx

Hi Quesney, the easiest way is to place the curser at the bar where you want to mute the steel guitar part then hit the F5 key on your keyboard which will bring up the edit settings window for that bar, now just click on the down arrow next to the instrument track that the steel guitar is on and choose mute. Do the same at the bar where you want the steel guitar to resume and choose "back to normal". You can do the same for any instrument track.

Thanks Andy. That's a big help for a dummy like me. I wonder when they are going to publish Band in a Box for dummies. ;)

Quesney,

Don't be afraid to experiment, i seem to learn better that way. Just be sure to SAVE BEFORE you try something. If it don't work, close the song and re open it, It'll be right back where it was.

Just a thought,
David

Thanks for the advise. I am doing just that and learning as I go. I will never be an expert at this but for my purposes everything is working just fine.

No more cut time drummers and other musicians with huge egos and little talent. :)
