Bobby Adkins, gone home.

Post by Doug Palmer »

Bobby Adkins passed today after a short illness and surgery. Bobby worked at Marlen Steel Guitar Co. in Reidsville many years building guitars with Leonard. He also owned and ran a club in Ruffin (Near Reidsville NC) for over 25 years called Carolina Country. It was an old school house Bobby purchased and made the gymnasium into a dance hall. Great club and big band. It's a sad loss. We'll miss you Pop.

Hate to hear this. Bobby was a fixture at Leonard's for a long time. I always enjoyed my visits with him. Our band played his place in Ruffin once. Condolences to his family

I am so sorry to hear this. On a couple occasions I drove down to the Emmons factory in Burlington, NC from ny home in Charlottesville, Va. Each time I stopped by Statler Music in Reidsville. Bobby was so kind and gracious to me, a total stranger, and was eager to show me around. Such a nice man... Great memories....
