Real Instruments Go Silent.

Having a problem. I write many of the bass lines by putting them in the chord structure ( C, C/E, C/G, C/E) and this gives me Real bass playing the bass lines that I need. I freeze the other real instruments before putting the bass line chord down. This way they continue to play the chords without playing all those bass lines. My problem is that sometimes my frozen real instruments don't play. I have to erase the bass chord/line and regenerate the the real instruments. Copy and past my bass/line back in and then save the song. They work for weeks and then just stop playing.
Any ideas? Thanks
