Johnny Preston RIP "Running Bear"

Post by Jerry Hayes »

I just read that Johnny Preston who had a million selling record of "Running Bear" in 1960 has passed away at the age of 71 down in Texas. He'd played around Beaumont and Port Arthur a lot through the years as well as national dates. His follow up tune to Running Bear was "Cradle of Love" which also did very well. He was a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame........RIP Johnny............JH in Va.

Very sad to hear of Johnny passing,
I really liked His recordings when I was in My teens.
I believe He was a friend of the late Big Bopper.
