Charlie Louvin says Goodbye in song

Post by Mike Headrick »

In 2003 I was honored to produce and record "The Sound Of Days To Come" with Charlie. He had just gone through a bad case of pneumonia, and he felt strongly that it would be his last CD. That would turn out not to be the case, but he chose the songs carefully and it was his dream album because I gave him free reign to record any song he wanted to. The last song on the 15 track CD was to be his goodbye to the world, and he wanted it played at his funeral. I don't know whether that will happen, but at least he can say goodye to you guys. Just click on the song's name below.

Goodbye Goodbye

We come in this world expecting
Never more to leave this place
Then we find the days are taken
Goodbye, Goodbye

With each morning comes a new time
We must face them with a prayer
For the days we have are sweetness
Goodbye, Goodbye

All around my door they're calling
Sounds of lonesome days to come
I will do my best to bear them
Goodbye, Goodbye

I wonder if I'll ever see you
Standing on that other shore
I will try my best to find you
Goodbye, Goodbye

Repeat the chorus
