Doug was in Oklahoma City when I met him around 1981. I once saw him and Buddy Emmons who were set up side by side at a club called Cowdaddies taking turns. Doug was one of the best. So was Paul Gates, Ken Collins and many others who I can't remember their names. Just about any weekend you could hear great traditional country music by a lot of great local talent in a lot of clubs in OKC in the Early 80's.

That's the way Country Music used to be. Sure wish it was like that now.
Their all super country musicians, great singers, and dressed right too.
I guess you have to watch Marty S. or go to Texas for good music now.
