Self Composition

Post by James Kerr »

A thread on "Steel without Pedals" asked for new year resolutions, my answer to that was "Compose more of my own music"

Well that resolution begins here with a composition called Threads of Silver, I hope you give it a listen and maybe enjoy.

Hey James, nice work. I love the atmosphere of the song. Nice guitar tones and the middle part is kind of Jeff Becky. That will be a fun resolution to try to keep. Much funner than mine. Lose weight.

Wow, great stuff!
That "atmospheric", film-score-like kind of lap steel playing is by far my favorite style of this instrument. Reminds me a bit of the Friends Of Dean Martinez (I hope you take this as a compliment!)

Roman,
As a matter of fact I have been listening to Friends of Dean & the Vanduras to get a feel for this kind of stuff, without copying anything, I don't ever try to copy anyone's music, don't see any sense in that, but I do like the feel of those two and several others.

Thank you for your comments.
