Hi Rick...these ol' ZB's definately have a sound of there own...the one i am playin' here is a loaner from Tommy Huff, but i have played a ZB Custom S-10 back in about 1997 or so and it also had that amazing ZB "twang" as i call it...thanks for watching...Brian 8) 8)

Thanks for the compliment Tommy...but i do need a bunch of practice and help playing this darn thing...i also need to run my music and your Pedal Steel Guitar thru a good Recording system and then post them on the Tube as it has a lot of background noise as our buddy David Hartley has explained how he has done on his You-Tube's...Take care and see you on tuesday...Brian 8) 8)

Attack

Post by Michael Robertson »

Brian!
Attack, attack, attack and take no prisoners’.
I love it.
I could almost hear that ZB SD-10 Custom crying out “HEY....This guy is serious”
That run you start at 2:58 has been in my head for a week or so.
Sooner or later I will figure it out.
Now I am going to go work on it.
Great job.

Great. I enjoyed that, and I watched your other vids too. I am a bit confused, 11 months without a steel. I thought you had a rains? I love the ZB sound and have never seen a SD-10. My first steel was a ZB student. Heavy guitars, simple operation underneath etc, lots of metalwork I remember but always sounded great. Henry, was that you I saw on the Thursday evening on the main stage in Dallas playing 'You aint woman enough'? I was at the back watching and listening with Mike Johnson and Joannie told me what the title was. I loved it, and it has stuck in my mind. In fact, it may be my next project. Thanks guys. David

Thanks a bunch Henry...I'm just getting back into it after about 11 months out...Hi David, no i had a blue SD-10 Derby after i had sold my Zum D-10 Hybrid...but sold both of them just before the Dallas Show last year...i have been wanting to buy a new Rains real bad, i talked to Gary Carpenter @ Dallas this year...hope to get one soon. The ol' ZB is a good pedal steel, just had Tommy Huff over yesterday and we tweaked it somemore...sounding much better now...Thanks for the compliment and stay in touch, Take Care...Brian 8) 8)

You know, I really like this. I am imagining what this would sound like on a multitrack recorder. The lick at 2.58s for 4 bars is great stuff. I'll be honest here Brian, I don't watch to many youtubes but this one, my ears do like. If you keep that steel, get yourself a recorder on the PC and sync video with recording, it would be brilliant. You are 'going for it' in this vid. I am assuming this is a track you are playing to with vocals on. Are they yours? If not, imagine what you can come up with, with your vocals and steel playing too. Please keep it up. PS. email me with details of the 'wand' and 'necklace'!! I think me and Fran need some..!! That request may confuse a few looking at this? Ha, PS..Final comment, you have a good voice too, but you do look a bit scary while you are waiting for the vocals to come in when I watch your singing vids. Ha. I hope you dont mind me saying that... More steel please. I am getting the old Tom Brumley record out tommorow to listen to ALL the instrumentals I learned as a boy. Tracy's Waltz I seemed to remember was a goodun! Best wishes Brian, Sincerely, from your friend, David Hartley..

Hi David

Thanks a bunch for the compliment on my playing Tommy's ol' ZB Custom...i know that i need to get a multi-track recorder as i have seen that it is the way you do your you-tube's and it really sounds fantastic, takes all of that back ground noise out...just leaves the good stuff there...i will e-mail you with the info on the "wand" and the "necklace w/pendendant"...Carol and i both have had really "Magical" results from them...also i know that my face is too serious between verses before i sing...it even scares me when i look at them..."My God" i look like i am too serious or something like that...anyway take care David and say hi to Fran, Keith, John and all across the big pond for us...Your South Texas Friend...Brian Folks and Carolyn too... 8) 8)
