Somewhere in the overstuffed attic I call a brain, is a memory of Robbie's Dad also being a steel player. If I'm right I know he's a proud man !!

Danny Boy has always been a favorite of mine and we've had discussions here on the Forum about it. But this is a fine rendition of the old classic. In as much as I appreciate his respect for previous recordings, I also appreciate his own changes and voicings I have not heard before. Nice work and a beautiful piece of PSG music !!

Regards, Paul

Robbie's dad was a steel player. His dad played steel and his mom played rythmn guitar in an early Hank Sr. band. This is ome of the best renditions of this tune I have ever heard. Way to go Robbie. Jody.

Well it seems like I posted the rough clip before I added a title and credits.

The year is 1997.

I will pull this video and re-post soon with all the credits that are due.

I just gotta ask???

How does the audience remain seated after a performance like that!!??? Sure they clapped :(

Mt Turner amazes me with the depth of feeling he pulls out of that Emmons.....are you guys taking that level of performance somewhat for granted? or was the audience in shock?

I just wish he would come to England and play on this side of the pond.....that was great!!!!!

Yes, that was Bobby Caldwell. I have deleted the original video and re-posted to include the credits.

The URL is a new link.

Audiences are strange about standing. Applause, yes and plenty of it.

And yes, that's the level of playing we hear at the ISGC.

Bill, I tried to post a comment on Robbie Turner's "Lonely Street" but it didn't "take"
It's frustrating when for some strange reason Youtube does this to you.
Anyway, thanks for all your videos. You are doing one heck of a job!

Bent,
Any comments placed on my YouTube videos come to me first for approval.

I did this because of all the quacks that wanted to post some smartalec or vulgar comments on my posts.

Truly impressive playing. I've never heard of Robbie Turner before. Maybe I've been living on the left coast too long. I feel like I've really been missing out on a great talent. Where's he from? What's he doing now musically?

PS: The guitar solo by Bobby Caldwell was also excellent.

Robbie lives in the Nashville area. He worked several years for Waylon Jennings, among other great artists.

Thanks Bill, I really enjoyed both of them.
That is sure beautiful and such smooth playing.
It makes me love my Emmons even more, but mine
don't sound anything like that, the way I play.

Bill,
Thanks much for posting this video of Robbie. Anyone who has not heard him play, has surely missed a real treat. I don't know anyone who plays with more feeling. And Bobby Caldwell just put the icing on it. Thanks again.
