Formica Sho-Bud sighting!
I'm pretty sure this is Buddy Charleton on a Formica Sho-Bud with Ernest Tubb starting at 43 seconds in:

The last clip is taken from a movie which I saw as a kid, could be "Hollywood Barn Dance". The steel player looks like a very young Jerry Byrd, and sure sounds like him. If so, would be the first time I ever saw him with a hat.

Well, I emailed the Jacksons, and got this reply from Dawn, Sho Bud never made a Formica guitar..so, could these have been done after they left the factory??
Heres Dawns mail
Correct. Never built a formica Sho-Bud. The only time Dad or Uncle Harry has used formica is in the past couple years on our Jackson Steel Blackjack model.

Could this be Buddy Charleton playing yet another Formica Sho-Bud in this clip? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVh1E_tbzyo

I'm pretty sure that the brownish one in Jim Smiths photo was Hal Rugg's.
It looks like Charleton's is a D-10 as well. It looks like it could me formica...maybe just painted though.
Perhaps someone should ask Buddy Charleton, I bet he can perhaps fill us in. Of course, Bobbe, Ricky Davis and James Morehead could probably fill us in too!!!
