Notice the way they go to a V minor instead of the usual I when the steel solo starts after the fiddles. Nice.
Al Perkins still has that distinctive sound.

I always thought that was just a I7 chord, but if the bass is playing a V, it's a V.

I bet ol' Ralph Mooney is pretty happy about this.

I hear the bass player hit the V, but I don't hear a minor chord. It sounds to me like a I7 with a V in the bass. I guess it's that Bb note being played with a G in the bass that gives it that minor feel. Whatever it is, I like it.

It sounds like a Vm7 inversion to me.

You can hear the piano playing a I Vm7 I passing chord figure behind the first line of the verse/chorus instead of playing a I7

It's the kind of tune that could be very simple 3 chords or dressed up tastefully. This is a beautiful arrangement.
