What a great photo! In 1976 I went to the convention for the first time and saw Curly play. I remember he played Spanish Eyes and turned that simple tune into a real piece of art.
I saw Jerry Byrd play on Maui in 1983(?) at a bar in a big hotel and nobody was there. My friend (another steel player) and I were the only people in the bar. Jerry sat at our table and played just for us without using a volume pedal. He said he forgot to bring it. Of course he played great. Thanks, Don
