This was a hit song for "Tex Ritter" in the mid 40's.
It was recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywood, Ca.
I think the band was the Carl Cottner band who backed up a lot of Gene Autry records. Ray Pennington and Buddy Emmons recorded this in one of their albums in the 70's but nobody could do it like "Tex".
I'm pretty sure the Steel fills in the background were by Frankie Marvin who also did the Gene Autry records.
