Chicago Rockabilly
The Big "C" Jamboree rockabilly celebration happens the first Thursday of each month at Martyr's in Chicago. That's on the north side, on Lincoln Ave. about 2 blocks south of Irving Park Rd. This is a dance/open mike featuring a different host band each month, as well as open mike players ranging from the absurd to the sublime. I've even seen some steels show up. So, grease up 'yer pompadore and come on out. Next show is 12/7/00.
