Sacred Steel in Daytona 7/23

Sacred Steel group "The Lee Boys" will be one of three gospel acts performing at the Florida American Festival concert at City Island in downtown Daytona Beach on 7/23. Concert time is from 6-9 p.m. and admission is free. For further info call Friends of the Bandshell at 904-673-2080.

The Lee Boys are a 6-person family band from Perrine that features the soulful twin pedal steeling of Glenn Lee and his young nephew Roosevelt Collier, rafter-rattling vocals by brother Keith, funky lead guitar by Big Alvin, Little Al on bass, and Cecil on drums. Those who have heard the first Arhoolie Sacred Steel CD (450) will remember Glenn's moving, wah-drenched "Call Him By His Name."
