Rick Trevino's steel player, Kevin Owens

Post by Don Ricketson »

I had the privilege last saturday night to meet Rick Trevinos steel player, Kevin Owens. We opened for Rick at the Diamond Express Opry at Round Rock, Texas. Kevin is a super picker and a very fine gentleman to boot. He was wheeling his equiptment in and I ask him what kind of steel he had and he rolled up his sleeve and on his right forearm was tatooed "SHO-BUD". Need I say more. He said he was a Lloyd Green protege and I believe it because he don't lower his e's just like Lloyd don't. (dang, how do they do that?) Anyway, they had a very good show. He is a very Buddy Charlton fan and even wears a banana style western hat and a Buddy Charlton beard and even chews gum to the beat of the music Image I liked him a lot...Don.

Kevin is as nice a guy and as good a picker as you're likely to run into.
