Switchin over to Emmons P/P

Post by Kenny Foy »

I have an 84 Emmons on the way and just can't wait. I sure love my 76 dbl 12 SHO-BUD but thought I'd try something else. So let the count down begin on the few days of the arrival of the EMMONS. Waitin on Mr. Buck Reid to give it a green lite. Sure hope I'm not makin a mistake.
[This message was edited by Kenny Foy on 27 January 2003 at 07:31 PM.]

Much Good Luck to you Kenny.

The P/P is THE guitar (sound wise) that many use as a standard to rate all other guitars. It is said to be to "cut through" when others won't. And it indeed does have a "bite". Like no other guitar ever built.

Your first "to learn" item is that it does NOT tune like other PSG's. Unless your sho-Bud was a P/P.

If you have difficulty mastering how to tune it, send me an email and I will send you a detailed step-by-step procedure on how to do it. Once learned, it is well worth it.

May our precious Lord bring you much joy with it always,

carl

Thats interesting Kenny because I played a black 73 P/P for four years. They are awesome sounding steels, but I just loved those old lacquer bodied Sho-Buds so much that switched over and now own two of those.
You won't be sorry especially if its coming from Buck Reid. Your gonna dig it.

I just acquired an '81 lacquer body p/p a while back and Jerry Roller went thru for me. TONE to die for. Plays fantastic, stays in tune, I've been told nothing sounds like 'em and I have to agree.

Kenny, sound wise you did not make a mistake.
Even some builders use the PP as their bench mark.
