Robert Randolph on TNT tonight

Post by Jim Smith »

Jerry Fessenden says that RR will be on Charles Barkley's show on TNT at 7 PM Eastern Time. That's in about five minutes from now so I'm heading home to see.

I saw that show...It was primarily an interview, but he was sitting at his guitar and got some good exposure for the instrument. One of the show hosts made the statement that: "I've lived in New York for over 30 years and I've never seen a contraption like that"!

Robert played well, but more importantly spoke well, and in doing so presented a very positive image and exposure for the steel guitar. www.genejones.com

Bummer, Jim, but thanks to your heads up, I saw it all. I've said it before---I've seen RR perform with the Family Band and they were quite good but I'm not all that interested in the jump/boogie music thing. (Been there, done that---at a much much lower calibre). But I could spend hours listening to RR do what he was doing on the Barclay show. Having fun and showing off too---Played Voodoo Chile w/wah wah for Sir Charles (who I've always considered a horse's ass but he was actually pretty funny). If Robert slows down some and starts teaching, I'm there.
