Dickey Overby
This past weekend i had the pleasure of working with an old friend and a true player. The band did good country music and i loved the steel and fiddle doing everything.(No guitar player).I sat in cold, rainy weather for an hour watching these guy's and loved every minute. Dickey and the band were great. By the way, Dickey was playing a rosewood '66 Emmons into a RV3 into an old LTD 400. Talk about tone. At times i heard Buddy. Then Jimmy Day. If you get the chance, go listen to Dickey. I will. Corky.

Corky....we saw Dickey at Bandera last year playing that Emmons. He bought that from Bobby Flores so that Bobby could get one from Herb...aint it fun. So, who was Dickey with and where was it. I guess we should remind everyone that Dickey's session work has been awesome lately, especially on Justin's albums and of course he recorded the "live" Jake session at Southern Junction. A great guy and a true friend.

Hey, Larry. Sorry, but i don't remember the band name. But the group was great. They did a lot of Johnny Bush,Ray Price,Darrell McCall, etc. And Bobby was great on fiddle. They had the whole Farewell Party Band out in the cold, rainy weather for over an hour just loving every minute. I'll try to find out the name of the group and let you know. Corky.

This should tell both Dickey and Justin how much they're loved....all of us waiting with baited breath for the release of Justin's album. Actually, we got an unmixed copy of the first nine songs and I can assure you, this should be on your "must have" list.It also showcases Dickey's writing with "Scene of the Crying" and "Yours and Mine and His".You will also not want to miss his wife D G singing harmony on the old Charlie Louvin song "Think I'll Go Somewhere and Cry Myself to Sleep". DG's credits go back to the days of back up for Connie Smith and comes from a family well versed in harmonies, the McCalls, dontcha know.
