Does anyone know if Larry Orr is still playing steel? If so where?
he was the steeler that backed up the Blue Ridge Quartet in the Mark four band?

I haven't talked with Larry since around 92.However I understand he's playing in church now after being out of the business for sometime.Larry lives in the Greenville SC area.

I have those Blue Ridge records, too. Larry Orr is a great steel player!

Larry Orr also played on some of the Inspirations Quartet recordings. There are two other musicians with the last name "Orr". I wondered if they were related?

Kenny.
Larry played on tons of gospel recordings between 1968&1972.He was on staff at Mark V recording studio.Which at that time was second only to Nashville for recording Gospel music. He recorded with many of the top southern gospel acts, and hundreds of unknown acts.Groups came here from all over the US.Actually had a few from Europe and one account from the former Soviet Union.

Larry left Mark V to take the road gig with the Blue Ridge Quartet.Tommy Dodd followed Larry at Mark V and then yours truly at the ripe old age of 15.------------bb
