Curley Chalker Kickoff

Post by Gene H. Brown »

Does anyone remember the kickoff Curly Chalker did on a song called "Stirring Up The Ashes" on a Hank Thompson single in about 1965. If you know where I could find a copy of this, I would be greatly indebted to you. That had to be one of the greatest kickoff's I have ever heard. Thanks

Funny, I just mentioned the same song on another thread. It's also on one of Hank's Capitol albums, "Luckiest Heartache In Town" ST2342. I see it often on ebay!

If you want the CD version you can find it on
Amazon.com the only drawback is that it is buried in the Hank Thompson box series that sells for about 219 used. There is another song on that cd called "Reaching for the Moon" that will make your socks go up and down too.

To quote another steel philosopher in another post, this intro and solo gives me "chicken skin", haha, I like that.
