Buddy's Discography
Could someone tell me where to find a complete list of every recording Buddy Emmons has participated in. I just want to see how many pages would be required to list them all. :>)
Thanks, Dan

While by no means complete, go to http://www.allmusic.com and do an artist search on Buddy Emmons. I don't think even Buddy knows every recording he was on.

AllMusic is pretty good, but it doesn't even scratch the surface of Buddy's recording career. I would imagine that if the credits weren't listed on the jacket or liner notes, it didn't make the AllMusic list. There were times when albums didn't list any of the session players.
Today they almost always list each player. I'd hazard a guess and say that Buddy has recorded hundreds, no, thousands of records without any credit being given. I doubt that even Buddy could remember all the recordings he's played on. It's a staggering amount, I'm sure.
Hardly any session player credits were listed until the 90's. I think that's why there are so many, "Who played on..." threads.

OK, now that I have been challenged by the idea that making this list is an impossible task, I am now officially taking on this project. So I am soliciting input from every Emmons fan out there who personally knows about ANY recording involving Buddy any time in his life. I am particularly interested in any and all sessions he was involved in while living in Los Angeles (the era when he was playing bass with Roger Miller). So put your thinking caps on and feed me information and I will do my best to sort out what is accurate and what is not and try to come up with a semi-complete history of Buddy Emmons sessions. If I go down in flames with this endeavor, so be it; if it is somewhat successful, then it should be an interesting piece of steel history. Anyone who would like to contribute info, please e-mail me at hatfieldd@missouri.edu
Thanks very much, Dan
