Wish that we could adopt a more civil manner between members similar to other specialized forums (ham operators, etc.).

Recently received less that desireable contacts from a Forum member with, to my knowledge, no axe to grind against me. I have no recelloction of contact with this fellow in the past.

Although I have been maybe too painfully straight to the point and out spoken in many a post, I have never knowingly attacked a fellow Forumite.

To any that I may have offended in the past, please accept my apology.

It would seem to be inappropriate to enter someone's "Buy & Sell" thread and post negative comments. I never have, and could never imagine doing that. Even I thought the deal being offered sucked.

I could not imagine cavalierly attempting to sabatoge a guy's chance to sell his gear.

Those of us lucky enough to be raised by "The Greatest Generation" know what I mean by civility. Oh.......... but to return to those ethics. Hope the pendulum swings back in our lifetime.

Spoke this evening to a steeler who says he is a long time Forum reader but not a member.

He stated no desire to participate in our Forum. He seemed uninterested in joining into what he seemed to perceive to be the often very uncivil fray.

He seemed like a very nice fellow in our telephone conversation.

I wonder how many other decent, pleasant, gentlemanly fellows we chase off with our often abusive and abrasive treatment of each other?

Let's all try to be a lillte more civil toward each other and show each other some common decency and courtesy.

We may be hard nosed musicians used to scraping to make a buck in this cold hearted business where it seems that it's "every man for himself", but why don't we try just a little bit to break the stereotypical mold of the less that respectable/desireable/low class reputation that we collectively seem to endure as musicians.

Just a thought.

Since I am the person this post is directed to and due to the nature and hostile feelings of it's author, I should pass on posting but I won't. Yes, I entered your thread on Buy & Sell but not with hostility as that came with your first email to me and your subsequent post on your thread. Naturally, I'm not one to roll over and play dead so I answered you in the only way I assume you understand, your own hostile way using the same words that you used in your email to me. It must have worked because here we both are, airing our dirty laundry on the forum, in front of God and the whole world. I have to admit that I was wrong. Yes Harry, it was wrong in me to post on your thread in Buy & Sell and I certainly wish that I had not have done that now. One fool's recognition was enough. As you stated in your own words:

Again, you were right and I wasn't.

Decency and courtesy is a lesson that some of us need. Anger management is another that comes to mind that others might benefit from! In your closing remarks, you refer to musicians as:

I'm a funeral director, not a musician so I guess that excludes me from your class. I'm sorry Harry!

I also applaud you Mike. And you are quite a MAN for doing it. Love you brother.

I have only had two "attack" letters since I began posting on our beloved forum.

1. One was demanding I quit all references to GOD on the forum since it was offensive to him and other non-believers.

and,

2. One taking me to task on I don't remember. Honestly I just don't recall what the subject was. I just remember, his words were not the sweetest, kindnest I ever heard

But outside those two, never had any others.

Wunder whut the future holds after the following?

May our Precious LORD and Savior richly bless you and yours always. Plus, I sure wish with all my heart you would reconsider (for your sake), IF you are a non believer.

This Forum is the best invention since the wheel was invented, for the Steel Family, 99.9% of the posts are positive, intertaining, and educational. It is a great place to meet people, gain new friends, and for a newby like myself a wealth of information. I am very proud to be a member. My thanks to b0b for his work in creating a place we can come and enjoy. If we have bad feelings toward someone, settle it like shooting each other,, that would make good reading in "our extended family".
Love you guys and gals that are here in the forum. If someone writes to me and tells me I'm full of prunes,,your wasting your time, I already know that.

Harry, sorry, but you really sound like a whiner! This forum is an OPEN discussion. If you can't take the heat don't post. Personally, I enjoy people who disagree with me. I find their view points interesting. This is not a tea room.

there is no discussion without dis-agreeing. So you are right. But there are different ways in discussing and it's not difficult to hurt, but more applaudible to make your point of view clear without hurting.

I enjoy the forumn,have been corrected more than once,have voiced my opinion on a subject or two. All in all, I feel that if we as adults, use good judgement and courtesy, many of these flare-ups could be avoided,even tho one's opinion may differ from the other.

Ever now and then tho,It's good to see a fire- fight. I've even gotten into a couple of em. All issues are educational and intresting.

My 02cents.

I'm a musician and I resent that remark. If that's the kind of people you think we pickers are I feel sorry for you.You know, I own a $250,000.00 home in an up scale neighborhood and drive a Lincoln Town Car and I pay my bills on time and don't have any dept, and I made it all playing music for a living here in Nashville, so does that still qualify me as a low life, undesirable?
