Program to Burn CD's and pictures?

Post by Frank Parish »

I've been using the Media Player for this and now for whatever reason I'm having a hard time trying to burn a CD or put pictures on a CD. Is there a good program I can download somewhere that is free?

If you have Windows Xp, it has built in CD burning capabilites by "drag and drop" using the Windows Explorer.

Otherwise consider either Nero or Roxio but you will have to buy them. They are both full feature CD/DVD burning suites of programs.

If you buy Nero, be very cautious with Version 7. Version 6 works like a charm but Version 7 still has some work to be done. The last upgrade to 7 was not long ago. If you buy Version 6, you'll get a good upgrade price for Version 7 when it finally stabilizes.

Bob, with the latest updates Nero V7 seems to be working OK. I don't use all the features but the CD and DVD burning, DVD production, etc seem to be OK.

One problem they do have - and it's always been there - is their update procedure. Instead of patching programs they make you download entire modules. Another issue is the updates convert full retail versions into displaying as "Trial" versions - even tho they are not (Windows XP Remove Software lists it as a trial version). 6 months ago Nero Tech Support said they would fix it and haven't done so yet.

I have the full "Plus" version of MMJB and all I see on that is recording for music - not data (pictures are "data").
