Download Check, Before It's Too Late?
Is it possible to check a download for spyware, viruses, bugs etc., before you download the download?
Or, does a good anti-virus program pick it up automatically when you click "download"?
Thanks all,
Chipper

Joey,
Yeah, I read your post on the new MS spyware
and I did download it and try it out.
It works OK. But then I ran [already installed] Spybot and Adaware.
Results: All 3 found different things. Makes you wonder. Just liked we wondered what was in [or not in] Wonder Bread.
BTW, my last raincheck with Mr Mixerman [months ago] produced nothing new. He was on a roll, back again yes, but then fizzled up
just as in the beginning. Lost my link to the site, anyway. Sorry to get off-topic.
Also, Adaware picks up cookies from this Forum. I never noticed it until today, cuz I just would delete all files without really paying much attention [bit of Greek here].
Is it OK to leave the SGF cookies in?
Thanks,
Chipper

I delete all cookies too.
Forum cookies are harmless, they just help keep ypu settings constant, but I delete them anyway.
Hopefully MS will improve their updates list.
It's still a beta.
I miss Mixerman, too. Someday... Let me know if you see any updates, I'll do the same, though I suspect we've both given up. Maybe a TV show will surface!?

More somewhat off topic stuff about forum cookies for people who use the Firefox web browser.
I don't like keeping lots of strange cookies on my computer, but I also don't like having to manually delete cookies or loosing the ones to trusted sites I frequent. There is a nice extension for Firefox called CookieCuller that can take care of this for you. With this extension you can mark some cookies to keep around and all other cookies get deleted everytime you re-start the web browser. I find it very handy.
