My son is getting a new Pc and I'm trying to find the best way to transfer files from the old PC to the new one, songs, apps, etc, both PC's run XP. Thanks for any help.

Hi Richard;
You are in luck since you have Win XP on both computers..Point your mouse to the following on your computer & hopefully it will walk you thru how to do it..
Go to START then to ALL PROGRAMS then to
SYSTEM TOOLS then to FILES & SETTINGS TRANSFER WIZARD ...
Should do it for you & my best to you..Ron

The XP file transfer requires a special cable between the two computers if they are not on a LAN.
Many just take out the hard drive from the old PC, temporarily install it in the new PC and then copy over the user data files they want. You can't just "copy" programs as they need to be installed from the programs installation program, but you can copy music, wordprocessor files, etc.
