Adding Programs to WinXP Startup

Sony has a keyboard Hot Key program that I can't figure out how to add to the startup file in MSCONFIG. It won't work if I add it to the regular startup folder in the taskbar menu. It has to be in some sort of system .ini file somewhere. I just don't know where to find it. I have a Vaio laptop that I loaded a clean copy of XP into and would still like to use this Hot Key program. I saved the directory and the programs before I blew out the old cluttered up system. Anybody know how to get the Hot Key program to run?
